By Komodo National Park Fee Editorial Desk
The Komodo National Park fee is a state entrance ticket charged per person per day, with one rate for foreign tourists and two for Indonesian tourists. It rests on Government Regulation 36/2024, and the park authority publishes it on a tariff poster. Since April 2026 tickets run through SiOra under a daily quota. The price table on this page shows the main lines.
This guide is not the park authority. It sells no tickets, holds no quota and takes no payment for tickets. It explains the published figures, names where each came from, and sends you to the page or office that can settle your question.
What is the Komodo National Park fee?
People use the phrase, and the shorter Komodo park entrance fee, for several different charges, so start by separating them. The core charge is the entrance ticket on the park authority's tariff poster. It has one line for foreign tourists and two for Indonesian tourists: one for weekdays and Saturdays, another for Sundays and holidays. Indonesian student groups have two lines of their own. Each line is priced per person per day. The poster also carries activity lines, such as scuba diving, and vessel lines that charge a boat rather than its passengers.
If you came here asking how much the fee is to visit, the answer sits in the table on this page, taken from that poster and dated. The same figures apply today, as checked in November 2026. The official pages listed below carry no 2027 tariff, and this guide does not guess. Nothing on the poster varies the rate by how you book, online or through a company, though what a company charges on top is its own business.

Who sets the fee and where is it published?
The tariff is non-tax state revenue, set nationally. Government Regulation 36/2024 dates from 30 September 2024 and has applied since 30 October 2024, and the audit board's regulation database lists it as in force. Forestry Minister Regulation 17/2025 then puts Komodo in Class 1 for national park tickets, and the regulation's Class 1 foreign tariff matches the poster.
That chain matters because it tells you who can change the number. UNESCO's listing describes the park as managed by Indonesia's central government, through the forestry ministry. A private seller can price its own services beside it. West Manggarai's regent said regional charges inside the park would stop from 24 May 2023. A 2026 letter on regional taxes for tourist boats is a separate matter, covered on the boat fee page. Ask who collects any extra line and under which rule.
The working reference is the poster on the park authority's tariff page. The same page publishes the authority's address on Jalan Kasimo in Labuan Bajo, plus a WhatsApp line and an email. Those details are collected on our contact page, together with a note on which questions belong with the park.
What does the entrance ticket cover?
Activities first. The park head told Antara that the entrance ticket already includes trekking, wildlife observation and snorkelling. Indonesia's tourism ministry site says the same and adds what falls outside: boats, accommodation and tour operator services.
Two labels you may meet in quotes are missing from the poster altogether. It has no conservation fee line and no harbour fee line. Komodo Resort describes a separate conservation fee and Ocean Earth Travels describes a harbour fee at the port of Labuan Bajo, and those claims rest on the operators' own pages. Neither charge is a line in the park's published tariff. Read more on the conservation fee and the harbour fee pages.
One more line on the poster deserves attention before you pay: once bought, a ticket can be neither cancelled nor refunded. RRI reports a force majeure exception, and the refund and closures page sets that conflict out.
How do you get a ticket since the quota began?
You arrange it in advance. The limit set from 1 April 2026 was 1,000 visitors a day, a figure the park authority's public relations coordinator gave Antara. What was added or cut later in 2026 is disputed, as the quota page shows. RRI reports that buying at the site ended and that bookings go through SiOra. Treat any plan that relies on paying on arrival as out of date.
A date can sell out, so settle it before you commit money elsewhere. The ticket is tied to that date. Sources split on who may complete the booking: IDN Times describes visitors reserving for themselves, while Casa de Capulet, a hotel with a tours desk, says only licensed operators can. That dispute has its own page, Can you book Komodo tickets yourself?
Why do figures online disagree?
Most disagreements have an ordinary explanation, and spotting which one applies usually resolves them.
- Age. Anything written before 30 October 2024 describes the earlier tariff. The rule changes timeline shows what moved and when, and the cancelled 2022 fee still circulates as if it were current.
- Bundling. An operator's "park fees" figure may include guides, harbour charges or its own handling, so it will not match a single poster line.
- Currency. Official tariffs are in rupiah. A dollar figure on a blog is somebody's conversion or estimate, and exchange rates move.
- Scope. A per-day ticket, a per-group guide charge and a per-vessel ticket are different units, and adding them produces a total that no official page shows.
When two figures clash, start from the park's own page and ask whoever quoted the other figure what it contains. A later dated official announcement can override undated page text, as it does for gate sales.
How can you check the fee yourself?
It takes a few minutes, and it is the single most useful step before paying a deposit.
- Open the tariff page and read the poster image directly.
- Find the line for your visitor type, then your day of the week if you are Indonesian.
- Multiply by your people and days, since the unit is per person per day.
- List everything else in your quote separately, and ask what each item is and who receives it.
- If something still does not fit, message the park authority using the details on that page.

What else do visitors ask about the fee?
Is the Komodo park entrance fee the same as the Komodo National Park fee?
In everyday use, yes. Both phrases point to the entrance ticket on the park authority's poster, charged per person per day. Scuba diving, drones and vessels have lines of their own, and the guide tariff sits on a separate park page.
When is the Komodo National Park fee due?
Before you reach the park. RRI reports that gate sales stopped in April 2026. An official circular also set the day before your visit as the latest time to reserve, citing weak signal inside the park. If an operator handles your ticket, ask when it pays and when you will receive the e-ticket.
Can I pay the Komodo National Park fee online?
Bookings now run through SiOra rather than a ticket window, so the process is digital. Which payment routes work for you, foreign cards in particular, should be confirmed inside the app, because the public information on card acceptance is dated. Our SiOra payment page lists what has been announced.
How much is the Komodo National Park fee in 2026?
The price table on this page shows the figures from the park's tariff poster: a per-person, per-day rate for foreign tourists and a lower one for Indonesians, which rises on Sundays and holidays. Scuba diving is a separate line. Guides, boats and operator services are charged outside those lines.
How much is the Komodo National Park fee for families?
Each person is counted per day. No child or infant rate appears on the lines published by the park, so do not assume one. Government Regulation 36/2024 allows zero tariffs in principle but opens no specific exemption for Komodo, so ask the park authority before you budget for a lower rate.
Is the Komodo National Park fee the same as a tour price?
No. The fee is a state ticket, and a tour price is what an operator charges for its own trip. Some prices contain the ticket and others add it. Boats, lodging and operator services sit outside the tariff, according to the tourism ministry site, so ask for a written breakdown.
Which published prices did we check?
Official tariffs and, where labelled, figures reported by named operators or the press, each with its source and the month we checked it. These are not our prices or offers. Fees and rules change, and sources sometimes disagree, so check the source before you rely on a figure.

How do I reach the desk?
The desk answers questions on +62 811-3823-875 (WhatsApp) or by email. Because a request through the desk may end in a paid booking, we have a commercial interest. You would see any fee, the price and the contracting company in a written offer before agreeing, and nothing short of that offer binds anyone. For how this guide works, see about this site.
Send the desk your dates, nationality, and activities. The desk replies in writing.
